Immediate dentures service in Pasadena

Tithraditional dentures are made by creating a mold of your teeth after they are extracted from your mouth. These dentures can’t be inserted until your gums have had a chance to heal completely, which can take as long as 9 weeks. For patients who prefer not to go without teeth during this time, there’s another option. Immediate dentures are molded before your teeth are extracted and are ready to wear as soon as you have your teeth pulled. Dr. Marchak offers service for immediate dentures for Pasadena residents in need of quality dentures to restore their natural face shape and smile.

There are a few things to consider before deciding to get an immediate denture. An immediate denture allows you to replace your teeth the same day as they are extracted, and it can guide your gums and jaw as they heal and help control the swelling. However, you will likely need to have several follow-up visits to reline the denture, and it will need to be replaced eventually.

What to expect for your immediate denture service

During the initial consultation, Dr. Marchack will conduct a thorough examination of your teeth and gums and create a treatment plan for your immediate dentures. Next, we will take impressions of your mouth to create your dentures. Once your dentures are ready, Dr. Marchack will extract your remaining teeth and install the immediate dentures on the same day.

Maintaining your immediate dentures

You’ll need to leave your denture in place until the next morning to help your mouth heal properly and follow Dr. Marchack’s care instructions to clean the denture each day. For the first few days, you’ll need to stick with soft foods before you transition back to your regular diet. You will also need to avoid hard and chewy foods until your mouth has finished healing.

As your gums recover from the extraction, you will need to have your immediate dentures adjusted for a better fit. Some patients may require a permanent denture after their jaw has finished reshaping.

Each patient is unique, and while all dentists have some training in prosthodontics, only some of them have specialized training in designing artificial teeth. Dr. Christopher Marchack is an experienced prosthodontist who has crafted quality dentures for patients in the Pasadena area since 1992.
