How a dental bridge work

A dental bridge is designed to “bridge” the gap created by missing teeth. It consists of two anchoring teeth, which can either be achieved through dental implants to replace two of the missing teeth or crowns that are placed on the adjacent teeth, and false teeth (called “pontics”) that replace the rest of the missing teeth. With modern dental techniques and materials, the bridge is designed to look just like your normal teeth and can even be shaded to match the rest of your teeth so no one will ever know that you have had dental work done.

Benefits of dental bridges

Dental bridges are a popular choice for our patients who are missing two or more teeth in a row for several reasons:

  • Bridges are versatile – they can be used with crowns or implants and can be made from a variety of materials, such as metal or all-ceramic, to suit a variety of preferences and budgets
  • They look and feel natural
  • It only takes two visits to restore your smile – one visit to take impressions and place a temporary bridge, and then another visit to check the fit and place your new bridge
  • Bridges are an affordable choice for replacing multiple teeth

Perhaps most importantly, a new dental bridge can truly transform how you feel about your smile, which can have a tremendous impact on all areas of your life.
